North Country Steel is a family owned and operated business established in Tamworth in 2002. We employ up to eleven staff members at any one time. Our employees are local people and we use local business product and trade services for the operation and manufacture of all our products. We pride ourselves on customer service and supply. North Country Steel, design and manufacture 'superior' mesh locker systems.

North Country Steel specialise in the manufacture of mesh locker systems for both the mining and processing industries and more recently the Australian Rural Fire Brigade. We recognize the need for a locker system that caters specifically for the needs of mining industry personnel, and together with industry we developed the best mesh locker system available.

NCS lockers are framed with galvanised RHS with meld mesh infill panels. The mesh allows for complete air movement maximising clothing and equipment drying times. Following this, a difference in design of the internal ’deck out’ for clean and dirty sides of the bathhouse. These are flexible in design to allow for differences from mine to mine. Some options frequently applied have included: small laundry service doors, boot hoops, fold down shelves, multi tiered lockers and solid sheet doors. Some dirty side locker installations have also been fitted with an air delivery system under the stands, this allows maximum drying out of contents. Locker finishes are both galvanised and powder coated. NCS lockers are extremely well suited to placement in both transportable and constructed new or existing bathhouses.

The development of concepts and locker design remains flexible and is key to the commitment of NCS to the Australian mine market. NCS can supply, deliver and install in NSW and in QLD. However the design allows for such simple and quick installation that most installation is done in house at the mine.

Modwood decking is Australian made and owned. It’s made from a combination of ground sustainable wood waste and plastic. (plastic milk bottles) Modwood is especially formulated for higher strength and superior moisture resistance. We believe modwood is the best choice for use on our tank stands.

Aquaplate steel has a food grade polymer skin bonded to its inner surface – water is clean, fresh and free of tainting.
